A historical erasure of time, identity and place. A slow timed walk in a tunnel underlying the historic Terezienstadt extermination camp (Czech Republic) becomes metonymy for time-lap; for the erasure of difference; for life on one end and death at the other end of the tunnel. The singular vision of the ideological "war-machine" is conceptualised in the coming together of the political machine (Third Reich), the architectural machine (war-tunnel), and the technological machine (video camera). Footsteps are converted into high-pitched sounds evoking the psychological angst of a last journey through this passage.
